Killarney was blessed to have the 13 boys and girls who make up Ugandan Thunder with us on Sunday March 14. The children sang, danced and shared about their love for Jesus and their love for America. Of course one of their favorite things about America was food! Ted Moody, the founder and director of their sponsor, Pennies for Posho, took them to a Krispy Kreme donut shop in Georgia so that they could experience their first donut. During our Sunday morning service he asked one of boys what the white stuff was on the donut, and the boy replied, "vitamins" lol.
These children were so precious. In spite of the difficult life in which they live in Uganda, they are filled with genuine joy and love for others. As Ted Moody discussed their living situation in Uganda, he reminded the congregation, not to be sorry for these orphans who live in poverty but are filled with joy. Instead pray for the children in America who have it all and yet are never content.
We want to thank the families who hosted Ugandan Thunder in your homes. We aslo want to thank everyone who gave so generously. We raised over $1300 that will be used to purchase food for the 4000 orphans ministered to through Pennies for Posho! We also want to thank everyone who signed up to sponsor a child. God will use the generosity, love and prayers of everyone to bless these children.
The group, Ugandan Thunder, is sponsored by Pennies for Posho, a non-profit Christian organization that is committed to feed the hungry children of Africa. All funds raise from the love offering that we received at the concert will be used for this expressed purpose. The website for Pennies for Posho is www.penniesforposho.org.
